Afanasieva Larisa Vladimirovna, born 28 July, 1975 in the town of Baykalsk, Slyudyansky District, Irkutsk Oblast, Soviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). Graduated from Irkutsk State University, Faculty of Biology and Soil Studies, with a specialty in Biology, qualification Biologist, Teacher of Biology and Chemistry, in the city of Irkutsk, Irkutsk Oblast, Russia (1997). Candidate of Biological Sciences (PhD) in Ecology (2005). PhD thesis: «Vliyanie Atmosfernogo Promyshlennogo Zagryazneniya na Sosnovye Lesa Basseyna Reki Selengi» (Influence of Atmospheric Industrial Pollution on Pine Forests of the Selenga River Basin), Ulan-Ude, Buryat State Univ., 2005 (in Russian). Research Scientist for the Laboratory of Floristics and Geobotany, Institute of General and Experimental Biology, Rus. Acad. Sci., Sib. Br., in the city of Ulan-Ude, Republic of Buryatia, Russia (2005-present). Specialist in ecological plant physiology, forest biogeochemistry, and plant resource management. Research interests in the assessment of the tree plants state under influence of negative factors, study of biogeochemical processes of elements migration in the soil-plant system on anthropogenically disturbed territories, study of structure and productivity of populations of wild-growing berry plants. Author and co-author more than 65 scientific publications.
