Baranchikov Yuri Nikolaevich, born 30 April, 1952 in the city of Sverdlovsk (4 September 1991 the city of Sverdlovsk regained its historical name Yekaterinburg), Sverdlovsk OblastSoviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). Graduated from A. M. Gor’kiy Ural State University (USU) (12 May 2011 USU has been affiliated to Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B. N. Eltsin), Faculty of Biology (at the present time – Department of Biology and Fundamental MedicineInstitute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics), with a specialty in Biology, qualification Biologist, in the city of Sverdlovsk, Sverdlovsk OblastSoviet Union (1974). Candidate of Biological Sciences (PhD, 1986), Senior Research Scientist (1988) in Entomology. PhD thesis: «Znachenie Troficheskoy Spetsializatsii v Effektivnosti Pitaniya Dendrofilnykh Cheshuekrylykh» (Significance of Trophic Specialization in Feeding Effectivity of Dendrophilous Lepidopterous Insects), Krasnoyarsk, V.
