Chepalov Valentin Azotovich, born 29 June, 1974. Graduated from Yakutsk State University (at the present time – M. K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University), Faculty of Biology and Geography (at the present time – Institute of Natural Sciences) in the city of Yakutsk, with a specialty in Biology (1996). Candidate of Biological Sciences (PhD) in Plant Physiology and Biochemistry (2010). PhD thesis: «Ekologo-Fiziologicheskie Osobennosti Pigmentnogo Apparata u Rastenii Kriolitozony Yakutii» (Ecological-Physiological Features of Pigmentary Apparatus of Plants in Cryolite Zone of Yakutia), Irkutsk, Siberian Institute of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch, 2010 (in Russian). Research Scientist for the Laboratory of Biogeochemical Cycles of Permafrost Ecosystems, Institute for Biological Problems of Cryolite Zone, Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch in the city of Yakutsk. Research interests in ecological, physiological and biochemical mechanisms of organisms adaptation to coldness. Author and co-author of more than 70 scientific publications.
