Dugarjav Chultemiyn, born 1 September, 1946 in Mongolia. Graduated from A. А. Zhdanov Leningrad State University (at the present time – Saint Petersburg State University), Faculty of Biology and Soil (at the present time – Faculty of Biology), with a specialty in Biology, qualification Biologist, in the city of Leningrad (06 Sept., 1991 Leningrad renaimed to Saint Petersburg), Soviet Union (since 1922 – Russian Federation) (1970). Candidate of Agricultural Sciences (PhD) in Forest Science and Silviculture; Forest Fires and Fire Fighting (1980), Doctor of Agricultural Sciences in Forest Science and Silviculture; Forest Fires and Fire Fighting, and in Ecology (1995). PhD thesis: "Estestvennoe Vozobnovlenie Listvennitsy Sibirskoy v Lesakh Khangaya Mongol'skoy Narodnoy Respubliki" (Natural Regeneration of the Siberian Larch in the Khangai Forests of the Mongolian People Republic), Krasnoyarsk, V. PI and CoPI for many international research projects on forest ecosystem, desertification and degradation of steppe pastures. Expert in forest ecology, forest natural regeneration and steppe afforestation. Author and co-author of more than 300 papers and 25 books. The main are: "Forests of Mongolia", Novosibirsk, Moscow, Nauka, 1978, 1980, 1983, 1988 (in Russian); "Natural Regeneration of Siberian Larch in the Forests of Mongolia", 1983 (in Russian); "Larch Forests of Mongolia", Krasnoyarsk, 2006 (in Russian with summary in English); "Larch Forests of Mongolia", Ulaanbaatar, 2006 (in Mongolian).
