Furyaev Valentin Vasil’evich, born 23 October, 1936 in the village of Pervomaika, Tisulsky District of Kemerovo OblastSoviet Union (since 1992 – Russia), deceased 21 March, 2020 in the city of KrasnoyarskRussia. Graduated from the Siberian Institute of Technology (SibIT) (in 1997 SibIT renaimed to the Siberian State University of Technology (SibSUT), in 2016 SibSUT affiliated to the Reshetnev Sib. St. Univ. Sci. Technol.), Fac. For., with a specialty in Forestry and qualification Engineer of Forestry, in the city of Krasnoyarsk, Krasnoyarsk KraiSoviet Union (1960). Candidate (PhD, 1967) and Doctor (DSc, 1989) of Agricultural Sciences, Professor (2007) in Forest Science, Silviculture, Forest Fires and Fire Fighting. PhD thesis: «Issledovanie vliyaniya pozharov i massovykh rzmnozheniy sibirskogo shelkopryada na lesa Ket'-Chulymskogo mezhdurech'ya» (The Sudy of Influence of Fires and Gradation of the Siberian Silkworm on the Forests of Ket'-Chulym Interfluve), Krasnoyarsk, V. Expert in forest pyrology. Scientific interests in study wildfires’ impact on forest environments and silviculture, the role of fires in the process of forest formation, increase of fire resistance of forests. Author and co-author of more than 270 scientific publications, including 16 monographs.
