Fuss Sabine, born 28 December 1979, in the city Aachen, North Rhine-WestphaliaGermany. Undergraduate with BSc in General Economics (2000), Graduated with MSc in Economics (2003), from Maastricht University, School of Business and Economics, Department of Economics, in the city of Maastricht, the Netherlands. MSc thesis: «Technical Change in the Electricity Sector: Optimum Portfolios in a Vintage Framework’», Maastricht University, Maastricht, the Netherlands, 2003. PhD studies in Economics at Maastricht University, School of Business and Economics, Department of Economics, Maastricht, the Netherlands (2003-2007). Participant of the IIASA Young Scientist Summer Program, in the city of Laxenburg, Austria (June-August, 2006). PhD degree in Economics from the Maastricht University, the UNU-MERIT (2008). PhD thesis: «Sustainable Energy Development under Uncertainty», Maastricht University, Maastricht, the Netherlands, 2008. The Head of the Working Group on Sustainable Resource Management and Global Change at the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change, in the city of Berlin, Germany. Invited Research Scientist with the IIASA Ecosystems Services and Management Program, in the city of Laxenburg, Austria. Member of the steering committee for the Global Carbon Project. Research activities focuses on the functioning and design of instruments for sustainable resource management and the provision of public goods with special interest in climate change mitigation and, in particular, land use change. Author and co-author of more than 50 peer-reviewed journal papers and is a lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
