Grabarnik Pavel Yakovlevich, born in 1957. Graduated from А. А. Zdanov Leningrad State University (at the present time – Saint Petersburg State University) Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Control Processes (1979). Candidate (PhD) (1992) and Doctor (2013) of Physical and Mathematical Sciences in Mathematical Modeling, Numerical Methods and Complexes of Programs. DSc. Thesis: «Modelirovanie i Metody Statisticheskogo Analyza Prostranstvennoi Struktury Drevostoev na Osnove Sluchainykh Tochechnykh Polei» (Modeling and Methods for Statistical Analysis of Spatial Stand Structure Based on Random Point Field) (in Russian). Leading Research Scientist for the Laboratory of Ecosystems Modeling, at Institute of Physicochemical and Biological Problems in Soil Science, Pushchino Scientific Center, Russian Academy of Sciences, in the city of Pushchino, Moscow Oblast, Russia. Reader of master’s degree courses on Mathematical Statistics at Pushchino State University (2006-2010). Lecturer of the postgraduate student course on Markov Chains and Monte Carlo Simulation at Ulm University, Germany, October-November, 2007. Research interests in spatial statistics methods, parameter estimation of complex highly structured random systems of interaction objects, goodness-of-fit procedures and multiply hypothesis testing in context of spatial processes modeling, individual-based modeling of forest ecosystem dynamics, Bayesian methods of analysis of complex space-time models. Associate Editor for peer-reviewed journal «Mathematical and Computational Forestry & Natural-Resource Sciences». Author and co-author of more than 60 scientific publications.
