Koptev Sergey Viktorovich, born 16 December, 1962, in the village of Voskresenskoe, Blagoveshchenskoe Rural Settlement, Velsky District, Arkhangelsk Oblast, Soviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). Graduated from the Order of the Red Banner of Labour Arkhangelsk Institute of Forest Technology (AIFT) (in 1994 AIFT renamed to Arkhangelsk State University of Technology (ASUT), in 2010 ASUT affiliated to the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M. V. Lomonosov (NArFU)), Forestry Faculty (presently – Higher School of Natural Sciences and Technologies), with a specialty in Forestry, qualification Engineer of Forestry, in the city of Arkhangelsk, Arkhangelsk Oblast, Soviet Union (1985). Candidate of Agricultural Sciences (PhD) in Forest Planning and Forest Inventory (1993), Doctor of Agricultural Sciences (DSc) in Forest Science, Silviculture, Forest Planning and Forest Inventory; Forest Crops, Selection, and Seed Growing (2016). PhD thesis: «Zakonomernosti Formirovaniya Tovarnoy Struktury Severotaezhnykh El'nikov» (Regularities of Forming Commodity Structure of the Northern Taiga Spruce Forests), Saint Petersburg, St. Petersburg For. Author and co-author of more than 120 scientific publications, including 8 books.
