Kurbanova Saniya Gasimovna, born 21 December, 1951 in the city of Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Soviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). Graduated from Kazan State University (at the present time – Kazan Federal University), Faculty of Geography (at the present time – Department of Geography and Cartography, Inst. Manag. Econ. Finance), with a specialty in Geography, qualification Geographer, in the city of Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Soviet Union (1978). Candidate of Geographical Sciences (PhD) in Geomorphology and Evolution Geography (1997). PhD thesis: «Antropogennye Izmeneniya Rezhima Stoka i Erozionno-Akkumulyativnykh Protsessov v Srednem Povolzh’e» (Anthropogenic Changes of the Flow Regime and Erosion-Accumulative Processes in the Middle Volga River Basin), Kazan, Kazan St. Univ., 1997 (in Russian). Associate Professor for the Department of Geography and Cartography, Inst. Manag. Econ. Finance, Kazan Fed. Univ., in the city of Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. Scientific interests in physical geography and geoecology. Author and co-author of more than 50 scientific publications.
