Graduated from the University of Perugia (Università degli Studi di Perugia), Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences (at the present time – Department of Chemistry, Biology and Biotechnology Dipartimento di Chimica, Biologia e Biotechnologie), with MSc in Biology, in the city of Perugia, region of Umbria, Italy (1985). Research Scientist for the Research Institute on Terrestrial Ecosystems (Istituto di Ricerca sugli Ecosistemi Terrestri), the National Research Council of Italy (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche), in the city of Porano, Provincia di Terni, region of Umbria, Italy (1985-present). Research interests in the analysis of genetic resources in species of agro-forest interest, varietal differentiation, hybridization, the construction of genomic maps, through the use of molecular and biochemical markers. Coordinator, PI and Co-PI for a numerous national and international research projects with cooperative research institutions in Hungary, Bulgaria, China, Chile, and other countries. Organizer and invited speakers in several international congresses and conferences. Author and co-author of more than 80 scientific publications.
