Oktan Ercan, born 5 March, 1972 in the city of Anamur, Mersin Province, Turkey. Undergraduate studies in Forestry at Karadeniz Technical University, Faculty of Forestry, Department of Forestry Engineering, with BSc in Forestry (1993), graduate studies in Silviculture at the Department of Silviculture, with MSc in Silviculture (1996), in the city of Trabzon, Turkey. PhD in Forest Engineering from the Faculty of Forestry, Karadeniz Technical University (2015). Research Assistant (1997), Senior Forest Engineer (2000), Lecturer (2005), Assistant Professor (2017-present) for the Department of Forestry Engineering, Faculty of Forestry, Karadeniz Technical University, in the city of Trabzon, Turkey. Teaches study courses in «Basic Principles of Silviculture», «Silviculture Techniques», «Forest Tending», «Silvicultural Planning», «Forestry Practices I-II», «Forestry Project I-II» for undergraduate students, and «Stand Structure Analysis», and «Rehabilitation of Degraded Forests» courses for graduate and postgraduate students. PI and Co-PI for a numerous national and international forestry research projects. Author and co-author of more than 50 scientific publications.
