Petrova Irina Vladimirovna, born 20 March, 1954 in the town of TalitsaTalitsky DistrictSverdlovsk Oblast, Soviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). Graduated from Tjumen State University, Biological and Chemistry Faculty (at the present time – Institute of Biology), with a specialty in Biology, qualification Biologist, in the city of  TyumenTyumen OblastSoviet Union (1978). Candidate (PhD, 1994), and Doctor (DSc, 2002) of Biological Sciences in Ecology. PhD thesis: «Izolyatsiya i Differentsiatsiya Smezhnykh Sukhodol'nykh i Bolotnykh Populyatsiy Sosny Obyknovennoy v Zaural'e» (Isolation and Differentiation of an Adjacent Upland and Boggy Scoth Pine Population at Zauralie), Yekaterinburg, 1994 (in Russian). DSc thesis: «Izolyatsiya, Differentsiatsiya i Khorologicheskaya Struktura Populyatsiy Sosny Obyknovennoy: Na Primere Severnoy Evrazii» (Isolation, Differentation, and Chorological Structure of the Scotch Pine Populations: on the Example of Northern Eurasia), YekaterinburgInst. Author and co-author of more than 150 papers.
