Polyakova Galina Andreevna, born 23 April 1940, in the city of Moscow, Soviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). Graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Biological and Soil Science (at the present time – Faculty of Biology), Department of Botany (at the present time – Department of Higher Plants), with a specialty in Botany, qualification Botanist, in the city of Moscow, Soviet Union (1962). Candidate (PhD, 1972), and Doctor (DSc, 2005) of Biological Sciences, Senior Research Scientist in Botany. PhD thesis: «Ekologo-Biologicheskie Osobennosti Formirovaniya Sosnovogo Podrosta v Slozhnykh Borakh Podmoskov’ya» (Ecological and Biological Features of the Formation of Pine Undergrowth in Complex Forests of the Vicinities of Moscow), Moscow, Lomonosov Moscow St. Univ., 1972 (in Russian). DSc thesis: «Antropogennaya Transformatsiya i Raznoobrazie Estestevennykh i Iskustvennykh Rekreatsionnykh Nasazhdeniy Moskovskogo Regiona» (Anthropogenic Transformation and Diversity of Natural and Artificial Recreational Stands in Moscow Region), Moscow, Lomonosov Moscow St. Univ., 2005 (in Russian). Leading Research Scientist for the Laboratory of Geobotany and Soil Science, Inst. For. Sci., Rus. Acad. Sci., in the village of Uspenskoe, Odintsovsky District, Moscow Oblast, Russia (1963-2023). Scientific interests in: ancient parks of the Moscow region, dynamics of forest phytocenoses, rare plant species and places of their growth, dynamics, numbers, reasons for changes in numbers.
