Sannikova Nelli Serafimovna, born in 1941. Graduated from A.M. Gorki Ural State University (at the present time – Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin), Faculty of Biology (at the present time – Department of Biology, Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics), in the city of Yekaterinburg (1971). Candidate of Biological Sciences (PhD) in Ecology (1984). PhD thesis: "Ekologicheskie Osobennosti Estestvennogo Vozobnovleniya Sosny pod Pologom Sosnovykh Lesov Srednego i Yuznogo Zaural'ya" (Ecological Features of the Pine Natural Regeneration Under Pine Forest Canopy in the Middle and Southern Cis-Ural), Svedlovsk, 1984 (in Russian). Senior Research Scientist for the Group of Geography, Ecology and Genetics of Coniferous Plants, Laboratory of Population Biology of Woody Plants and Forest Dynamics, Botanical Garden, Russian Academy of Sciences, Ural Branch in the city of Yekaterinburg. Main scientific interests in forest cenopopulation-microecosystemic ecology and biogeocenology, pyroecology, natural regeneration. Author and co-author of 124 papers and 5 books.
