Shikhova Nina Sergeevna

Shikhova Nina Sergeevna, born 4 April, 1951 in the village of TataurovoNolinsky DistrictKirov OblastSoviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). Graduated from A. A. Zhdanov Leningrad State University (at the present time – Saint Petersburg State University), Faculty of Geography (at the present time – Institute of Earth Sciences), with a specialty in Botanical Geography, qualification Geographer (1978). PhD studies in Geochemical Ecology of Plants and Biogeochemistry at A. A. Zhdanov Leningrad State University, in the city of Leningrad (06 Sept., 1991 Leningrad renaimed to Saint Petersburg), Soviet Union (since 1992 – Russia) (1985). Candidate of Geographical Sciences (PhD) in Physical Geography, Geophysics and Geochemistry of Landscapes (1986). PhD thesis: «Biogeokhimicheskie Osobennosti Landshaftov Vyatsko-Kamskogo Nechernozem'ya» (Biogeochemical Specifics of Landscapes of the Vyatka-Kama Nechernozem'e), Leningrad, A. A. Zhdanov Leningrad State Univ., 1986 (in Russian). Senior Research Scientist for the Department of Forest Science at Federal Scientific Center on Biodiversity of Terrestrial Biota of the Eastern Asia, Far-Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in the city of Vladivostok, Primorsky Krai, Russia (since 1996 to present time). Research interests in geobotany (phytosociology), geochemical ecology of plants, biogeochemistry, phytoindication and biomonitoring of natural and disturbed ecosystems, urban ecosystems. Author and co-author of more than 85 scientific publications, including book: «Derev’ya i Kustarniki v Ozelenenii Goroda Vladivostoka» (Trees and Bushes of Vladivostok Streets), Vladivostok, Dalnauka Publ. House, 2006 (in Russian with English abstract).
