Dugarjav Chultem, born 1 September, 1946. Graduated from A.А. Zdanov Leningrad State University (at the present time – Saint Petersburg State University) Faculty of Biology and Soil (at the present time – Faculty of Biology) (Russia, 1970). DSc. in Forestry and Ecology (1997), Professor (1997), Academician of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (2006), Director for Institute of Botany, Mongolian Academy of Sciences. Expert in forest ecology, forest natural regeneration and steppe afforestation. Head for the Mongolian side of the Joint Russian-Mongolian Complex Biological Expedition of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Mongolian Academy of Sciences. PI and CoPI for many international research projects on forest ecosystem, desertification and degradation of steppe pastures. Author and co-author of more than 300 papers and 25 books.
