Dorjsuren Chimidnyam, born 9 May, 1952 in Bayankhongor province, Mongolia. Graduated from Mongolian Agricultural Institute with a specialty in «Forestry» (1974). Doctor of Biological Sciences in «Forest Science & Silviculture; Forest Fires & Fire Fighting (2006). DSc. Thesis: «Struktura i Antropogennaya Dinamika Rastitelnykh Soobshestv Listvennichnykh Lesov Mongolii» (Structure and Anthropogenic Dynamics of Plant Communities of Larch Forests of Mongolia), Krasnoyarsk, V. N. Sukachev Institute of Forest, Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch, 2006 (in Russian). Head for the Forest Science Department at Institute of General and Experimental Biology, Mongolian Academy of Sciences, Professor for the Forest Science Department at National University of Mongolia (2008), Academician of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (2014). Expert in forest science, forestry, ecology and modeling of forest ecosystems. The Scientific Secretary for the Mongolian Part of the Joit Russian-Mongolian Complex Biological Expedition Russian Academy of Sciences, and Mongolian Academy of Sciences. PI, CoPI and advisor for more than 15 international research projects and grants on studying forest successions, biological productivity and sustainable use of the Mongolian forests. Member of the editorial board of peer-reviewed scientific journal «Sibirskij Lesnoj Zurnal» (Siberian Journal of Forest Science). Author and co-author of more than 120 papers and 12 books.
