Koropachinski Igor Yurievich, born 16 March, 1928 in the city of Krasnoyarsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia (former USSR). Graduated from the Siberian Institute of Forest Technology (at the present time – M. F. Reshetnev Siberian State Aerospace University), Faculty of Forestry (1951). Counselor for the Russian Academy of Sciences at the Central Siberian Botanical Garden Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch (2000) in the city of Novosibirsk. Doctor of Biological Sciences in Botany (1972), Professor (1975), Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences on Biology Branch, Section of General Biology and Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1992). Expert in dendrology and ecology. PI and CoPI for more than 50 national and international research projects on dendrology and ecology. Associate editor for peer-reviewed scientific journals of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences: "Proceedings of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Series Biological", "Sibirskij Ekologicheskij Zurnal", "Contemporary Problems of Ecology", "Sibirskij Lesnoj Zurnal", "Siberian Journal of Forest Science". Awarded by State Order of the USSR "Honour" (1986), V.N. Sukachev Personal Prize of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1995). Author (and co-author) of more than 300 papers, including 10 monographs.
