Krasnoshchekov Yuri Nikolaevich
Krasnoshchekov Yuri Nikolaevich, born 8 July, 1947. Graduated from Irkutsk State University Faculty of Biology and Soil Studies (1971). Doctor of Biological Sciences in Ecology and Soil Science (1991), Leading Research Scholar for the Laboratory of Forest and Soil Science at V. N. Sukachev Institute of Forest, Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch (1991), Professor (1994) for the Department of Land Management at Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University. Expert in forest and soil science. PI and CoPI for more than 20 national and international research projects on study and mapping of forest ecosystems. Main directions of scientific research are: genesis, geography and ecology of forest soils of the Baikal Lake region, including Mongolia, the study of soil-protective functions of mountain forests, and the impact of forestry activities and forest fires to change the properties of soils, with an assessment of their forest growth potential. Member of the editorial board of peer-reviewed scientific journal "Sibirski Lesnoi Zurnal" ("Siberian Journal of Forest Science"). Author (and co-author) of more than 180 papers, including 12 books. For a creative scientific work of many years and an outstanding contribution to the development of forest science and an international scientific cooperation, awarded by the Medal "For Valorous Labor" of the Government of Mongolia (2010), Honorary Notes, Letters and Diplomas of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences and of the Presidium of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
