Loskutov Sergei Redzhinaldovich, born 14 June, 1951. Graduated from Krasnoyarsk State University (KSU) Faculty of Physics with a specialty in "Biophysics" (1973) (In 2006 KSU being included to Siberian Federal University). Vice-Director on scientific research for V. N. Sukachev Institute of Forest, Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch, Head for the Department on Physical and Chemical Biology and Biotechnology of Forest Ecosystems' Components (2000), Head for the Laboratory on Physical and Chemical Biology of Timber Plants (2013), Doctor of Chemical Sciences (1999), Professor for the Department of Wood Chemical Technology and Biotechnology at the Siberian State Technological University (2008), Chairman of the State Certification Commission at the Siberian State Technological University (2006), member of the Presidium of Krasnoyarsk Research Center, Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch (2002). Scientific interests are focused on the study of wood interaction with low-molecular substances. The major results of the research are presented in 3 monographs: "Physical Basis of Wood-Water Relations", Novosibirsk, Nauka Publ. House, 1989 (in Russian); "Interaction of Wood with Physically Active Low-Molecular Weight Substances", Novosibirsk, the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences Publ. House, 2004 (in Russian with summary and contents in English) ; "Products for Industrial Purposes from the Bark of Conifers", Novosibirsk, the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences Publ. House, 2004 (in Russian with summary and contents in English), more than 70 papers published in a peer-reviewed scientific journals as: "Wood Chemistry" (Khimiya Drevesiny), "Forest Journal" (Lesnoi Zhurnal), "Plant Resources" (Rastitelnye Resursy), "Chemistry of Vegetable Raw Products" (Khimiya Rastitelnogo Syr’ya), "Biotechnology" (Biotechnologiya), "Soil Science" (Pochvovedenie), "Siberian Journal of Ecology" (Sibirskii Ecologicheskii Zurnal), "Contemporary Problems of Ecology", "Wood Research" (Drevarsky Vyskum), "Holzforschung", and in the proceedings of an international scientific conferences. Elected as a Member of the International Academy of Wood Science (IAWS, http://iaws-web.org/en/) (2001). For successful scientific achievements awarded by the Honorable Certificate of the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1999), and by the "Silver Sigma" Honorable sign of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
