Pavlov Igor Nikolaevich, born 24 August, 1964. Graduated from the Siberian Institute of Technology (at the present time – M. F. Reshetnev Siberian State Aerospace University), Faculty of Forestry (1986), Post-Graduate course at Saint-Petersburg State Forest Technical Academy (at the present time – Saint-Petersburg State Forest Technical University) Forestry Faculty (1989). Doctor of Biological Sciences in Forest Science, Silviculture, Forest Fires and Fire Fighting, and in Ecology (2007), Professor (2009), Vice-Director for Scientific research, Head for the Laboratory of Forest Crops, Micology and Phytopathology at V. N. Sukachev Institute of Forest, Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch (since 2014). Expert in reforestation, dendrochronology, phytopathology and protection of forests. Head and supervisor for research grants on dendrochronology, sylviculture, forest health. The main of them have been supported by the Russian Foundation for Fundamental Research grants, as follows: "Conifer xylem structure response to the intensive attacks of the phyllophagous pest (during outbreaks of the Dendrolimus superans sibiricus Tschetv.) and to the controlled artificial defoliation", 2009-2010, "Mass drying of coniferous forests in Siberia and Far East: monitoring, reason, mechanism, modeling of succession, formation of a sustainable biogeocenoses", 2010-2012, "Xylem and stomata morphology of different functional parts of woody plants as an attribute of water transport", 2012-2014. Associate Editor for an international peer-reviewed theoretical journal "Siberian Journal of Forest Science". Author (and co-author) of more than 130 peer-reviewed papers and 6 books.
