Vaganov Eugene Alexandrovich

Vaganov Eugene Alexandrovich, born 10 October, 1948 in Krasnoyarsk city, Russia (former USSR). Graduated from Krasnoyarsk State University (KSU) Faculty of Physics with a specialty in "Biophysics" (1971) (In 2006 KSU being included to Siberian Federal University). Rector for Siberian Federal University (2006). Doctor of Biological Sciences in Biophysics (1984), Professor (1994), Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences on General Biology Branch and Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1997). Director for V.N. Sukachev Institute of Forest, Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch (1994-2006). Founder and Chair for scientific school on ecology of woody plants and dendrochronology. Advised 7 DSc and more than 40 PhD students. Builder of system for dendroclimatological monitoring of Russian forests. PI and CoPI for more than 50 national and international research projects on tree ring analysis and ecological modeling. Associate editor for international peer-reviewed scientific journals "Tree-Ring Journal", "Eurasian Journal of Forest Research", Russian peer-reviewed scientific journals "Forest Science" (Lesovedenie), "Contemporary Problems of Ecology" (Sibirski Ekologicheski Zurnal), and "Siberian Journal of Forest Science" (Sibirski Lesnoi Zurnal). Author (and co-author) of more than 250 papers, including 10 books.
