Mironov G. S., Svishchev D. A. Forest Planning in Eastern Siberia. Celebrating 60th Anniversary of the East-Siberian Branch of the Federal State Budgetary Enterprise «Roslesinforg» *

The creation in 1961 in the center of Siberia of a large forest planning enterprise (at the present time – the East Siberian Branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Roslesinforg Vostsiblesproekt) was caused by the rapid growth of the forest industry in the regions east of the Urals, and the first major task for the enterprise was the drawing up of a master plan-scheme complex development of forestry and timber industry of Krasnoyarsk Krai. For 60 years of its existence, Vostsiblesproekt, by ground and aerospace methods, brought to the notice of taiga massifs on tens of millions of hectares in almost all regions of Siberia, carried out forest planning work in specially protected natural areas of federal significance. A large amount of work of the enterprise falls on the preparation of forest plans for the constituent entities of the Federation, forestry regulations for all forestry districts of Krasnoyarsk Krai, the Republic of Khakassia and the Republic of Tyva. Vostsiblesproekt constantly carries out work on the state order, and also performs a wide range of activities for the timber industry enterprises. On the basis of contracts and agreements for state authorities in the regions, local government structures, as well as users and tenants of forest plots, the enterprise carries out various types of forest and land planning, design of forest plots, forest inventory. In 2007-2020 the enterprise completed the first cycle of the state forest inventory in terms of determining the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of forests. In 2021, the second cycle of state inventory began, which provides for the use of data from the first cycle to identify the dynamics of forest indicators. On the basis of the East Siberian Branch, technologies for continuous remote monitoring of forest use were tested. The enterprise has been repeatedly recognized as the best in the forest planning system in Russia.
