Chernodubov Alexey Ivanovich, born 5 September, 1946, deceased in 2022. Graduated from Voronezh Institute of Forest Technology (at the present time – Voronezh State University of Forestry and Technologies named after G. F. Morozov), Faculty of Forestry (at the present time – Forest Faculty) with a specialty Engineer of Forestry (1968). Doctor of Agricultural Sciences in Forest Crops, Breeding, and Seed Growing (1996). DSc. thesis: «Vnutrividovaya Izmenchivost i Populyatsionnaya Struktura Pinus-sylvestris L. v Ostrovnyh Borah Vostochno-Evropeyskoi Ravniny» (Intraspecific Variation and Population Structure of Pinus sylvestris L. in the Insular Pine Forests of the East European Plain), St. Petersburg, S. M. Kirov Saint-Petersburg State Forest Technical University, 1996 (in Russian). Professor (1999) for the Department of Forest Crops, Selection and Forest AmeliorationForest Faculty, Voronezh State University of Forestry and Technologies named after G. F. Morozov. Research interests in genetics, breeding, seed production, geography, population ecology, intraspecific variation, differentiation of populations, preservation of gene pool of woody plants. Author and co-author of more than 130 scientific publications, including books: «Sosna Obyknovennaya v Ostrovnykh Borakh Yuga Russkoi Ravniny» (Scotch Pine in the Island Forests of the South Russian Plain), Voronezh, 1998 (in Russian); «Sosna Obyknovennaya v Ostrovnykh Borakh Vostochno-Evropeiskoi Ravniny: Istoriya-Genetika-Ekologiya-Geografiya)» (Scotch Pine in the Island Forests of the East European Plain: History-Genetics-Ecology-Geography), Voronezh, 2009 (in Russian); «Melovye Bory Vostochno-Evropeiskoi Ravniny: Geografiya – Produktivnost’ – Lesorazvedenie)» (The Cretaceous Forests of the East European Plain: Geography – Productivity – Forest Growing), Voronezh, 2011 (in Russian).
