Efremov Stanislav Petrovich, born 12 October 1937, in the village of EsiplevoZavolzhsky DistrictIvanovo OblastSoviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). Graduated from Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical Institute (at the present time – V. P. Astafiev Krasnoyasrsk State Pedagogical University), Faculty of Natural Sciences and Chemistry (at the present time – Faculty of Biology, Geography, and Chemistry), with a specialty in Chemistry and Biology, qualification Teacher of Chemistry, Biology and Bases of Agriculture, in the city of KrasnoyarskSoviet Union (1960), and was appointed for the work to the Institute of Forest and Timber of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch (at the present time – V. N. Sukachev Inst. For., Rus. Acad. Sci., Sib. Br.,). Candidate (PhD, 1968), and Doctor (DSc, 1988) of Biological Sciences in Forest Science, Forestry, Forest Fires & Fire Fighting, and in Ecology, Professor (2014) in Forest Science, Forestry, Forest Planning and Forest Inventory. PhD thesis: «Izmeneniya Lesorastitel'nykh Usloviy na Nizinnykh Bolotakh Tomskoy Oblasti pod Vliyaniem Osusheniya» (Changes in Forest Conditions in the Low-Lying Bogs of Tomsk Oblast Under the Influence of Drainage), Krasnoyarsk, Inst. For. & Timber USSR Acad. Sci., Sib. Br., 1968 (in Russian). DSc thesis: «Formirovanie Pionernykh Drevostoev na Osushennykh Bolotakh Yuzhnotaezhnoy Podzony Zapadnoy Sibiri» (Formation of Pioneer Stands on Drained Bogs of the Southern Taiga Subzone of Western Siberia), Krasnoyarsk, Inst. For. & Timber USSR Acad. Sci., Sib. Br., 1987 (in Russian). Principal Research Scientist for the Laboratory of Phytocenology and Forest Resource Science, V. N. Sukachev Inst. For., Rus. Acad. Sci., Sib. Br., Fed. Res. Center Krasnoyarsk Sci. Center, Rus. Acad. Sci., Sib. Br., in the city of Krasnoyarsk, Russia (2003-present). Research interests in study dynamics of forest and bog interrelations, assessment of forest-forming process under soil hydromorphism, typological diversity and productivity of forest bogs, indication of cycles of organic substance and carbon in forest-bog ecosystems of the West Siberian Plain. Has a great knowledge in scientific organization and education activity. For 14 years he acted as academic secretary for the Scientific Council of the USSR Academy of Sciences (at the present time – Russian Academy of Sciences) in forest problems and simultaneously as the Secretary for Coordination Council of Special-Purpose Program of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences named «Forest Resources of Siberia». Member of the Joint Scientific Council of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in biological sciences (1999–2001). PI and Co-PI for a numerous fundamental research projects on study biodiversity of forest and bog ecosystems of Southern Siberia at V. N. Sukachev Inst. For., Rus. Acad. Sci., Sib. Br. (2004-2016). Author and co-author of more than 240 scientific publications, incl. 6 books and over 115 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
