Gukov Gennadiy Viktorovich, born 1 May, 1937 in the city of Magadan, Magadan Oblast, Soviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). Graduated from Primorskiy Agricultural Institute (at the present time – Primorsky State Academy of Agriculture), Faculty of Forestry (at the present time – Institute of Forestry and Forest Park Management), with a specialty in Forestry and qualification Engineer of Forestry, in the city of Ussuriysk, Primorsky Krai, Soviet Union (1963). Candidate (PhD, 1969), and Doctor (DSc, 1984) of Agricultural Sciences, Professor (1985) in Forest Science, Silviculture, Protective Afforestation, Forest Fires and Fire Fighting. PhD Thesis: «Listvennitsy i Listvennichnye Lesa Yuzhnogo Primor’ya» (Larchers and Larch Forests of the Southern Primor’e), Sverdlovsk (04 Sept., 1991 the city of Sverdlovsk renaimed to Yekaterinburg), Ural For. Engineer. Inst. (at the present time Ural St. For. Engineer. Univ.), 1969 (in Russian). DSc Thesis: «Ekologo-Biologicheskie Osnovy Vedeniya Khozyaystva v Listvennichnykh Lesakh Sikhote-Alinya» (Ecological-Biological Backgrounds for Management of Larch Forests in Sikhote-Alin), Moscow, Moscow Inst. For. Technol. (MIFT) (in 1993 MIFT renaimed to Moscow St. For. Univ. (MSFU), in 2016 MSFU reorganized to Mytishchinski Branch of N. E. Bauman Moscow St. Univ. Technol.), 1984 (in Russian). Professor for the Department of Silviculture, Institute of Forestry and Forest Park Management, Primorsky State Academy of Agriculture, in the city of Ussuriysk, Primorsky Krai, Russia. Awarded the state USSR awards – medals: «For Labor Prowess» (1986), «Veteran of Labor» (1989). The Honorary Worker of Higher Education of the Russian Federation (1994), Corresponding Member of the International Higher Education Academy of Sciences (1994), Academician of the International Academy of Agrarian Education (2000), nominee for the public honorary title «The Best People of Russia» (2004), Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural History (2017), Member of the Encyclopedia «Famous Scientists» of the International Association of Scientists, Teachers and Specialists (Russian Academy of Natural History) (2017). The Head for the leading scientific schools on agricultural sciences of the Russian Academy of Natural History: «Forest Science and Silviculture in the Far East of Russia», and «Biological Diversity and Forest Formation Process in Major Forest Formations of the Russian Far East». Specialist in forest science, silviculture, and forestry. Supervised 17 PhD students in forest science, silviculture and forest ecology. Author and co-author of more than 400 scientific publications, monographs, textbooks, and methodical manuals.
