Gureyeva Irina Ivanovna, born 28 April 1955, in the rural locality of Tyup Тyup District, Issyk Kul Region, Kirghiz Soviet Socialist Republic (since 31.08.1991 – Kyrgyzstan) (former Soviet Union). Graduated from Tomsk State University (TSU) (at the present time – National Research Tomsk State University), Faculty of Biology and Soils (at the present time – Institute of Biology, Ecology, Soil Science, Agriculture and Forestry (Institute of Biology)), Department of Botany, with a specialty in Biology, qualification Biologist (1978), PhD studies (1984), and DSc (1996) studies in Botany at the Department of Botany TSU, in the city of Tomsk, Tomsk Oblast, Soviet Union/Russia. Candidate (PhD, 1984), and Doctor of Biological Sciences (DSc, 1997), Professor (2013) in Botany. PhD thesis: «Paporotniki vo Flore Yuzhnoy Sibiri» (Ferns in the Flora of Southern Siberia), Tomsk, Tomsk St. Univ., 1984 (in Russian). DSc thesis: «Ravnosporovye Paporotniki Yuzhnoy Sibiri (Voprosy Sistematiki, Proiskhozhdeniya, Biomorfologii, Populyatsionnoy Biologii)» (Homosporous Ferns of Southern Siberia (Issues of Taxonomy, Origin, Biomorphology, Population Biology), Novosibirsk, Central Sib. Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation (2005), Honorary Worker of Higher School of the Russian Federation (2011). Professor for the Department of Botany, the Head for the Herbarium named after P. N. Krylov at the National Research Tomsk State University, in the city of Tomsk, Tomsk Oblast, Russia (2020-present). Scientific interests in systematics, biology, ecology, and phytocenology of plants. Author and co-author of more than 250 scientific publications.
