Šijačić-Nikolić Mirjana

Šijačić-Nikolić Mirjana, born 19 April 1968, in the city of Belgrade, Republic of Serbia. Graduated from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Forestry, with BSc in Forestry (1991), MSc (1995), and PhD in Seed Science, Nursery Production and Afforestation (2001), in the city of Belgrade, Republic of Serbia. PhD thesis: «Analiza genetskog potencijala generativne semenske plantaže omorike (Picea omorika /Panč./Purkyne) primenom kontrolisane hibridizacije linija polusrodnika» (Analysis of genetic potential of generative spruce seed plantation (Picea omorika/Panč./Purkyne) using controlled hybridization of semi-relative lines), Belgrade, Faculty of Forestry, the University of Belgrade, 2001 (in Serbian with English abstract). Full Professor at all three levels of studies (2011-present), Head for the Laboratory of Biotechnoology (2016-present), Vice-Head for the Chair of Seed Science, Nursery Practice and Afforestation, Vice-Dean for science and international cooperation for the Department of Forestry, Faculty of Forestry, the University of Belgrade, in the city of Belgrade, Republic of Serbia. Research interests in forest genetics, plants breeding, conservation and sustainable utilization of forest genetic resources, and plant production. PI and Co-PI for a numerous national and international research projects. Author of more than 300 scientific papers.
