Karev Georgy Petrovich, born … Graduated from Novosibirsk School of Physics and Mathematics (First Graduates) (at the present time – Specializes Training and Scientific Center of Novosibirsk State University), Novosibirsk State University, Department of Mechanics and Mathematics with a specialty in Applied Mathematics. Doctor of Physics and Mathematics in Biophysics (1994), Research Scientist for the Evolutionary Genomics Research Group of the Computational Biology Branch at National Center for Biotechnology Information, U.S. National Library of Medicine in Bethesda, MD, USA. Research interests in mathematical modeling in biology. Main directions: 1) Theory of heterogeneous models of populations and communities with applications to mathematical genetics, forest ecology, global demographics, modeling of cancer, models of populations’ deaths; 2) replicator dynamics and patterns of early biological evolution; 3) stochastic models of population dynamics; 4) theory of multi-dimensional structural models of populations and its application to the hierarchical models of complex systems. Author and co-author of more than 100 scientific publications.
