Kozlov Mikhail Vasil'evich
Kozlov Mikhail Vasil'evich, born 31 August 1962 in the city of Leningrad (06 Sept., 1991 Leningrad regain its former name Saint Petersburg), Soviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). Graduated from A. A. Zhdanov Leningrad State University (now – Saint Petersburg State University), Faculty of Biology and Soil Sciences (at the present time – Faculty of Biology), Department of Entomology, with a specialty (MSc) in Zoology, in the city of Leningrad, Soviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). MSc thesis: «Morfologiya, Biologiya i Sistematika Primitivnykh Cheshuekrylykh (Lepidoptera: Micropterigidae – Tischeriidae) SSSR» (Morphology, Biology and Systematics of Archaic Moths (Lepidoptera: Micropterigidae – Tischeriidae) of the USSR), Leningrad, Leningrad State Univ., 1984 (in Russian). Candidate of Biological Sciences (PhD) in Entomology (1986). PhD thesis: «Sravnitel’ny Analiz Morfologii i Anatomii Grudnogo Otdela Cheshuekrylykh v Svyazi s Osobennostyami Poleta i Predkopulyatsionnogo Povedenya» (Comparative Analysis of Thorax Morphology and Anatomy of Lepidopterans in Relation to Specifics of Flight and Before Copulation Behaviour), Novosibirsk, Inst. Biol., Sib. Br., USSR Acad. Sci. (in 1993 Inst. Biol., Sib. Br., USSR Acad. Sci. has been renaimed to the Inst. Systematics and Ecology of Animals, Sib. Br., Rus. Acad. Sci.), 1986 (in Russian). Worked as a Research Scientist for the All-Union Institute of Plant Protection (now – All-Russian Institute of Plant Protection), in the city of Leningrad, Soviet Union (1984-1991). Adjunct Professor (Docent) (2001), Senior Research Scientist (since 2002 to the present time) for the Sector of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Department of Biology, Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Turku, in the city of Turku, Finland. PI and Coordinator of international research projects: «Insect Herbivory in Forest Ecosystems», and «Geographic Variation in the Impacts of Land Use Changes on Ecosystem Stability (GILES))». Research interests and expertize in studies on morphology and systematics of archaic moths, insect ecology, impacts of industrial pollution on terrestrial biota, global change impacts on trophic interactions in terrestrial ecosystems. Author and co-author of over 300 scientific publications.
