Maksyutov Shamil Shavratovich
Maksyutov Shamil Shavratovich, born 19 April, 1957 in the city of Sterlitamak, Republic of Bashkortostan, Soviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). Graduated from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (at the present time – State University), Department of Molecular and Chemical Physics, Subdepartment of Chemical Physics, with a specialty in Physics and Mechanics of Chemical Processes, and qualification Engineer-Physicist in Physics and Mechanics of Chemical Processes (1980), PhD studies in Chemical Physics at the same Department of the same Institute, in the city of Moscow, Russia (1980-1983). Candidate of Physical-Mathematical Sciences (PhD) in Chemical Physics, Including Combusting and Explosive Physics (1983). PhD thesis: «Issledovanie Teplovogo Samovosplameneniya i Goreniya Predvaritelno ne Peremeshannykh Gasov» (Study of Thermal Spontaneous Ignition and Combustion of Previously not Mixed Gases), Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Dolgoprudny, Moscow Oblast, Russia, 1983 (in Russian). Then joined Department of Mathematics (at the present time – Department of Combustion and Explosion), Institute of Chemical Physics, USSR Academy of Sciences (at the present time – Semenov Institute of Chemical Physics, Rus. Acad. Sci.), where worked on numerical modeling of combustion and atmospheric chemistry, in the city of Moscow, Russia (1983-1989). Postdoctoral fellow and visiting researcher, studies in atmospheric greenhouse gases in Siberia at the National Institute for Environmental Studies, in the city of Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan (1990-1999). Joined greenhouse gas modeling group at the Frontier Research Center for Global Change, in the city of Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan (2000-2005). Participated in the GOSAT (Greenhouse Gases Observing Satellite) project at the National Institute for Environmental Studies (since 2005 to present time), Head for the Biogeochemical Cycle Modeling and Analysis Section, Center for Global Environmental Research at the National Institute for Environmental Studies, in the city of Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan (since 2011 to present time). Author and co-author of more than 100 scientific publications.
