Mandelshtam Mikhail Yur’evich, born 6 April 1965, in the city of Leningrad (06 Sept., 1991 Leningrad renaimed to St. Petersburg), Soviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). Graduated from Leningrad University named after A. A. Zhdanov (at the present time – St. Petersburg St. Univ.), Faculty of Biology and Soil (at the present time – Faculty of Biology), Department of Biochemistry, with a specialty in Biochemistry, qualification Biologist, specialization in Molecular and Genetic Studies, in the city of Leningrad, Soviet Union (1987). Candidate (PhD, 1993), Associate Professor (2003), and Doctor (DSc, 2006) of Biological Sciences in Biochemistry. PhD thesis: «Molekulyarno-Geneticheskoe Issledovanie Semeynoy Giperkholesterinemii» (Molecular Genetic Study of Familial Hypercholesterolemia), Inst. Exp. Med. Rus. Acad. Med. Sci. (at the present time – Inst. Exp. Med.), St. Petersburg, 1993 (in Russian). DSc thesis: «Molekulyarno-Geneticheskiy Analiz Monogennykh Form Ateroskleroza i Raka Molochnoy Zhelezy u Zhiteley Sankt-Peterburga» (Molecular Genetic Analysis of Monogenic Forms of Atherosclerosis and Breast Cancer in Residents of St. Petersburg), Inst. Exp. Med. Rus. Acad. Med. Sci. (at the present time – Inst. Exp. Med.), St. Petersburg, 2005 (in Russian). Leading Engineer the for the Department of Forest Protection, Wood Science, and Hunting Management, Institute of Forest and Natural Resource Management, S. M. Kirov Saint-Petersburg State Forest Technical University, in the city of St. Petersburg, Russia (2014-present). Specialist in taxonomy and faunistics of bark beetles (Coleoptera: Curculionidae, Scolytinae) and molecular genetics of hereditary diseases. Research interests in forest phytopathology, study of wood-destroying and microscopic fungi, forest protection. Member of the Editorial Board of the peer-reviewed scientific journal «Izvestiya Sankt-Peterburgskoy Lesotekhnicheskoy Akademii» (Proc. St. Petersburg For. Engineer. Acad.). Author and co-author of more than 290 scientific publications.
