Osho Johnson Sunday Ajose, born 6 December, 1949 in the town of Itapa Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. Graduated from the University of Ife (12 May, 1987 the University of Ife was renamed to Obafemi Awolowo University), Faculty of Sciences, Department of Mathematics, with BSc in Mathematics, in the city of Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria (1971), master degree studies in Statistics at Iowa State University, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Department of Statistics, George W. Snedecor Statistical Laboratory, with MSc in Statistics, in the city of Ames, Story County, Iowa, the United States (1977), PhD in Forest Biometrics from the Department of Forest Resource Management, Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry, the University of Ibadan, in the city of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria (1988). Professor of Forest Biometrics for the Department of Forest Resource Management, Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry, the University of Ibadan, in the city of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. Supervised more than 80 theses including BSc, MSc & PhD graduates in Forestry. Recipient of several international awards including British Council Fellowship (1987-1988), Swedish Institute Study Scholarships (1988-1989), and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Fellowship (1993-1994). Member of Commonwealth Forestry Association – CFA, the International Biometric Society – IBS, Nigerian Statistical Association, Ecological Society of Nigeria (EcSON), Forestry Association of Nigeria, Forests & Forest Products Society of Nigeria, Associate Editor for Nigerian Journal of Tree Crop Research. Author and co-author of more than 60 papers and research report/monographs.
