Panchenko Danila Vladimirovich, born 26 July 1982, in the city of Petrozavodsk, Karelian ASSR (since 1991 – Republic of Karelia), Soviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). Graduated from Petrozavodsk State University, Faculty of Ecology and Biology (at the present time – Institute of Biology, Ecology and Agricultural Technologies), with a specialty in Biology, qualification Biologist, in the city of Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia, Russia (2004). Candidate of Biological Sciences (PhD) in Zoology and Ecology (2010). PhD thesis: «Mlekopitayushchie Otryada Parnokopytnye (Artiodactyla) Karelii i Kolskogo Poluostrova (Mesto v Ekosistemakh, Biologiya, Resursy, Upravlenie Populyatsiyami)» (Artiodactyla Mammals of Karelia and the Kola Peninsula (Place in Ecosystems, Biology, Resources, Population Management), Petrozavodsk, Petrozavodsk St. Univ., 2010 (in Russian). Senior Research Scientist for the Laboratory of Zoology, Institute of Biology, Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in the city of Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia, Russia) (2005-present). Scientific interests in the the study of distribution and abundance, ecological features of mammal populations, relationships in the «predator-prey» system, management of resource species, conservation of rare representatives of theriofauna. Author and co-author of more than 145 scientific publications.
