Parfenova Elena Ivanovna, born 03 May 1950 in the city of Novosibirsk. Graduated from Siberian Institute of Technology (at the present time – M. F. Reshetnev Siberian State Aerospace University), Faculty of Engineering, Chemistry and Technology (at the present time – Faculty of Chemical Technology) in the city of Krasnoyarsk, with a specialty in Chemistry and Technology of Nitrogen Organic Compounds (1972). Candidate of Biological Sciences (PhD) in Ecology and Bioinformatics (2007), Research Scientist for the Laboratory of Forest Monitoring at V. N. Sukachev Institute of Forest, Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch (1996). Research interests in forest ecology, bioclimatic modeling and GIS applications in ecology. Member of the American Geophysical Union, British Ecological Society, International Association for Vegetation Science. Author and co-author of more than 130 papers, 8 books and certificate of a software program.
