Tuzhilkina Valentina Vasil'evna

Tuzhilkina Valentina Vasil'evna, born 11 August 1949, in the city of Kondopoga, Kondopozhsky District, Republic of Karelia, Soviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). Graduated from the Order of Lenin S. M. Kirov Saint-Petersburg State Forest Technical University), Faculty of Forestry (at the present time – Institute of Forest and Natural Resource Management), with a specialty in Forestry, qualification Engineer of Forestry, in the city of Leningrad, (06 Sept., 1991 Leningrad renaimed to Saint Petersburg), Soviet Union (1973). Candidate of Biological Sciences (PhD) in Plant Physiology (1984), Senior Research Scientist in Ecology. PhD thesis: «Fotosinteticheskaya aktivnost' sosny i eli v usloviyakh sredney podzony taygi Komi ASSR» (Photosynthetic Activity of Pine and Spruce in the Conditions of Middle Subzone of Taiga Komi ASSR), Syktyvkar, Inst. Biol., Komi Br. USSR Acad. Sci. (at the present time – Komi Rep. Sci. Centre, Ural Br., Rus. Acad. Sci., 1984 (in Russian). Senior Research Scientist for the Department of Forest Biological Problems of the North, Institute of Biology, Komi Republic Scientific Centre, Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in the city of Syktyvkar, Komi Republic, Russia (1984-present). Expert in ecological physiology of woody plants, environmental assessment in large-scale national economic projects of the Russian Federation, the Komi Republic, the Nenets Autonomous District on development and exploitation of oil, gas, and forest resources, PROON/GEF project on carbon sequestration (2010). Author and co-author of more than 130 scientific publications, including 5 books.
