Vasylyshyn Roman Dmitrovich, born 10 August 1981, in the village of Chornii Potik, Nadvirna Raion, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine. Graduated from Storozinetsky Forest College in the city of Storozhynets, Storozhynets Raion, Chernivtsi Oblast, Ukraine, with a specialty in Forestry, and qualification Master of Forestry (2000), Ukrainian Agricultural Academy (at the present time – National University of Life Sciences and Environment of Ukraine), Faculty of Forestry (at the present time – Education and Research Institute of Forestry and Park Gardening), with a specialty in Forestry, and qualification Engineer of Forestry, in the city of Kiev, Ukraine (2004). Candidate (PhD, 2007) and Doctor (2014) of Agricultural Sciences in Forest Planning and Forest Inventory. PhD thesis: «Produktivnist' ta Nadzemna Fitomassa Lisostantsiv Yalitsy Biloi v Ukrainskikh Karpatakh» (Productivity and Aboveground Phytomass of Silver Fir Forest Stands in the Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains), Киев, 2007 (in Ukrainian); DSc thesis: «Produktivnist' ta Ekologo-Energetichnyi Potentsial Lisiv Ukrainskikh Karpat» (Productivity and Environmental-Energy Potential of the Forests of Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains), Kiev, 2014 (in Ukrainian). Prize-winner of the President of Ukraine for young scientists (2014), Grant-winner of the the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (the Parliament of Ukraine) for young scientists (2016), Academician of the Ukrainian Forest Academy (2016), Professor (2016) for the Department of Forest Management, Education and Research Institute of Forestry and Park Gardening, Director for the Research Institute of Forestry and Landscape Gardening at the National University of Life Sciences and Environment of Ukraine. Teaches courses for graduate students on «Economics of Garden and Park Management» and «Forest Bioenergy» for MSc students. Author and co-author of more than 180 scientific and teaching-methodical publications, including 7 books, 8 monographs, 2 normative-reference guides, and 9 patents for an inventions.
