Tashev Alexander Nikolov

Tashev Alexander Nikolov, born 1 June, 1956 in Bulgaria. Graduated from Higher Institute of Forestry (at the present time University of Forestry), Faculty of Forestry, with a specialty in Forestry, qualification Engineer of Forestry, in the city of SofiaBulgaria (1978). PhD studies in Botany (1980-1984) at S. M. Kirov Leningrad Forest Technical Academy (at the present time – Saint-Petersburg State Forest Technical University), Faculty of Forestry (at the present time - Institute of Forestry and Natural Resources Management), in the city of Leningrad (06 Sept., 1991 Leningrad renaimed to Saint Petersburg), Soviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). Candidate of Biological Sciences (PhD) in Ecology (1984), Professor in Dendrology (2013). PhD thesis: "Vliyanie Stvolovoy Drevesnoy Biomassy na Kachestvo Vody v Vodokharanilichshakh" (Influence of Stem Wood Biomass on Water Quality in Water Reservoirs), Leningrad, S. M. Kirov Leningrad For. Tech, Acad., 1984 (in Russian). Professor for the Department of DendrologyFaculty of Forestry, University of Forestry, in the city of Sofia, Bulgaria (1984-present). Expert in botany, dendrology, floristics, phytosociology, conservation of flora and vegetation, ecology of forest ecosystems. PI and CoPI for a numerous national and international projects related to the conservation of flora and vegetation. Associate Editor for scientific edition "Nauchnye Zapiski Prirodnogo Zapovednika "Mys Mart'yan" (Proc. Cape Mart'yan Nature Reserve), published by the Nikita Botanical Garden. Author and co-author of more than 240 scientific publications, including several university textbooks.
