Vaganov Eugene Alexandrovich, born 10 October, 1948 in the city of Krasnoyarsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. Graduated from Krasnoyarsk State University (KSU) (in 2006 KSU being included to Siberian Federal University), Faculty of Physics (at the present time – School of Engineering Physics and Radio Electronics, Siberian Federal University), Department of Biophysics, with a specialty in Biophysics, and qualification Physicist, in the city of Krasnoyarsk, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia (1971). Candidate (PhD, 1975), and Doctor (1985) of Biological Sciences, Professor (1994) in Biophysics, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences on General Biology Branch and Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1997). PhD thesis: "Mikrofotometricheskiy Analiz Godichnykh Kolets v Issledovanii Rosta Drevesnykh Rasteniy" (Microphotometric Analysis of Tree Rings in the Study of Woody Plants Growth), Krasnoyarsk, L. V. Associate editor for peer-reviewed scientific journals: "Tree-Ring Res.", "Euras. J. For. Res.", "Lesovedenie" (Rus. J. For. Sci.), "Sibirskij Ekologicheskij Zhurnal" (Contemp. Probl. Ecol.), "Sibirskij Lesnoj Zurnal" (Sib. J. For. Sci.). Awarded by the "Golden Sign of Public Recognition" Diploma of the Natioanl Fund "Public Recognition" (2001), Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Prize (2003), Academician V. N. Sukachev Personal Prize of the Presidium of the Rus. Acad. Sci. (2004), "Silver Sigma" Honor Sign of the of the Presidium of the Sib. Br. Rus.Acad. Sci. (2007), Medal of the State Order of the Russian Federation, Second grade: "For Merits of Fatherland" (2011). Author and co-author of more than 250 papers, including 10 books.
