The article presents information from the biography of Alexandra Vital’evna Volokitina, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Leading Research Scientist for the Laboratory of Forest Pyrology at V. N. Sukachev Institute of Forest, Siberian Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences, and briefly analyzes the results of her scientific research. A. V. Volokitina is a well-known specialist in forest science and forest pyrology, who has made a significant contribution to the study of forest fire problems in Siberia. A. V. Volokitina paid much attention to experimental studies of the nature of fires in forest vegetation, the pyrological characteristics of the ground cover in the taiga zone, the classification and mapping of plant combustible materials in the forests of Russia. Based on the results of A. V. Volokitina’s research, more than 350 scientific papers have been published, including 9 monographs, 11 methodological and practical recommendations, 3 tutorials, 1 invention, 2 certificates of state registration of computer programs. The contribution of A. V. Volokitina to the training of students, specialists, forest researchers and forestry workers in Russia is noted. Currently, A. V. Volokitina continues her active scientific work, supervise students, and publishes the results of her studies.
