Gurov Andrei Vyacheslavovich, born 6 November, 1955 in the city of Krasnoyarsk, Russia (former USSR), deceased 1 June, 2017 in the city of Krasnoyarsk. Graduated from Tomsk State University (at the present time – National Research Tomsk State University) Faculty of Biology and Soil Science (1978) (at the present time – Institute of Biology, Ecology, Soil Science, Agriculture and Forestry (Institute of Biology). PhD in Biology (1989). The title of PhD dissertation: «Ecological Conditionality of the Complex of Phytophagous Insects in Young Pine Stands of the North Forest-and-Steppe Zone of Central Siberia». Senior researcher for the Department of Forest Zoology at V. N. Sukachev Institute of Forest and Timber, Krasnoyarsk (1986-1999) (at the present time – V.N. Sukachev Institute of Forest, Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch). Post-doctorate and scientific activity in several institutions of Italy and France (1993–2009). At the present time – Research Scholar for the Laboratory of Technogenic Forest Ecosystems at V.N. Sukachev Institute of Forest, Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch in Krasnoyarsk city (2009). Expert in ecology of invertebrates. The main scientific interests are in transition processes in ecology, the structure and function of ecotone ecosystems. Author (and co-author) of more than 70 scientific publications.
