Korets Mikhail Anatol’evich

Korets Mikhail Anatol’evich, born 30 December, 1974, in the city of KrasnoyarskKrasnoyarsk KraiSoviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). Graduated from Krasnoyarsk State University of Technology (KSUT) (in 2006 KSUT affiliated to Siberian Federal University), Faculty of Informatics and Management Processes (at the present time – School of Space and Information Technology) in the city of Krasnoyarsk (1997). Candidate of Technical Sciences (PhD) in Equipment and Methods for an Inspection of Natural Environments, Substances, Materials and Items (2001). PhD thesis: «Otsenka Kharakteristik Lesnykh Territoriy na Osnove Sopryazhennogo Analiza Dannykh GIS i Sputnikovoy S’emki» (Evaluation of Characteristics of Forest Territories Based on Analysis of GIS and Satellite Scenes Data), Krasnoyarsk, KSUT, 2001 (in Russian). Senior Research Scientist for the Laboratory of Forest and Soil ScienceV. N. Sukachev Inst. For., Rus. Acad. Sci., Sib. Br., Fed. Res. Center Krasnoyarsk Sci. Center, Rus. Acad. Sci., Sib. Br., in the city of Krasnoyarsk, Russia (1993-present). Specialist in remote sensing data analysis, geo-processing, geo-modelling, using remote sensing methods and GIS for the forest characteristic estimation and sustainable forestry. PI and Co-PI for a numerous national and international research projects (Russian-US Project on Sustainable Forest Management in Central Siberia, 1994-2005, GSE FM - GMES Service Element Forest Monitoring in Russia, Siberian Earth System Science Cluster – SIB-ESS-C, ZAPÁS - Assessment and Monitoring of Forest Resources in the Framework of the EU-Russia Space Dialogue et al.). Author and co-author of more than 150 papers, 9 books, 5 maps, GIS-cartography tutorials and software tools (2 state certificates).
