Voronin Viktor Ivanovich

Voronin Viktor Ivanovich, born 7 June, 1956 in an urban-type settlement of Nizhneangarsk, Severo-Baykalsky District, Republic of Buryatia, Soviet Union (since 1992 – Russia). Graduated from Irkutsk State University, Faculty of Biology, with a specialty Teacher of Biology and Chemistry, in the city of Irkutsk, Irkutsk Oblast, Russia (1978). Candidate (PhD, 1989) and Doctor (2005) of Biological Sciences in Ecology. PhD thesis: «Deistvie Serosoderzhaschikh Emissiy na Pikhtu Sibirskuyu v Yuzhnom Pribaikalie» (Influence of Sulfurous Emissions to Siberian Fir in Southern Cis-Baikalia), Krasnoyarsk, V. N. Sukachev Inst. For. and Timber, USSR Acad. Sci., Sib. Br. (at the present time - V. N. Sukachev Inst. For., Rus. Acad. Sci., Sib. Br., 1989 (in Russian). Director (since 2017), Head for the Laboratory of Bioindication of Ecosystems (since 1992 to present time) at the Siberian Institute of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch, in the city of Irkutsk, Irkutsk Oblast, Russia. Expert in forest ecology and dendrochronology. PI and Co-PI for a numerous international research projects on forest ecology. Member of the editorial boards of the peer-reviewed scientific journals: «Izvestiya Irkutskogo Gosudarstvennogo Universiteta» (The Bulletin of Irkutsk State University), Series «Earth Sciences», «Geoarcheology. Ethnology. Anthropology», and «Sibirskij Lesnoj Zurnal» (Siberian Journal of Forest Science). Laureate of the Irkutsk Oblast Governor Prize on Science and Technology (2007). Author and co-author of more than 180 scientific publications, including 5 books and 6 textbooks.
